Northumberland - England's Cradle of Christianity & One of Sam's Exotic Travels
From the heather-covered hills of Northumberland to the vibrant cities of Tyne and Wear; the historic landmarks of County Durham and the peaceful countryside of Tees Valley, North East England has a wealth of treasures to share. A rich history and heritage that will unfold before your eyes as you travel from coast to countryside. Not only does this area of Northumberland have great scenery, vast beaches, a National Park - but there's also a huge amount of history to discover... Ancient Kingdoms, Border Warfare, Castles, and more.
I visited Northumberland in June 2006 to visit my daughter and family. It was a great reunion and a great trip, with lots of sights to see.
